You can 'dark mode' your Cybertruck, but it'll cost you $6,500

Well, it's a big car. That's a lot of paint.

One distinction Tesla's Cybertruck has when compared to most cars is that it comes with no paint as standard.

That's not Tesla trying to squeeze more dollars out of buyers (OK, maybe it is), that's a feature: the car has a stainless steel body and needs no paint to protect it. On its website, Tesla actually has a video showing various objects bumping off of Cybertruck's body and leaving no mark.

But what if you want something else? Something...darker? Well, you can have it, but it will cost you.

On its website, Tesla actually lists Cybertruck color paint film as an option. The company says the urethane-based, "premium color paint films" are "self-healing" and protect against scratches (wait, we thought this thing doesn't scratch easily).

The film covers all exterior stainless steel surfaces, and is "more environmentally friendly than traditional vinyl wraps," the company says.

As for colors, you get two options: Satin Black and Satin White.

Tesla's Cybertruck was mostly an unknown until the company finally started delivering it (in very small quantities) to customers on Thursday. Now we know a whole lot more about the $60,990 electric SUV; here's an overview of some of the stuff we've learned about the Cybertruck.
