'Memory' trailer: Jessica Chastain helps Peter Sarsgaard's struggle with dementia

It starts out more like a horror film than a drama, though.

The official trailer for Memory has arrived, inadvertently offering a clear demonstration on how not to make new friends.

The drama follows Sylvia (Jessica Chastain), a social worker whose life is disrupted when Saul (Peter Sarsgaard) follows her home from her high school reunion uninvited. It sounds like the premise for a horror movie, and definitely not the start of any sort of positive experience. However, the two eventually begin to help each other as Saul deals with dementia and Sylvia deals with her past.

Just remember that while it may be cute in the movies, following anyone home in real life without their consent is likely to get you a visit from the police.

Memory arrives in New York and Los Angeles theatres on Dec. 22, before receiving a wider release on Jan. 5.
